According to CCS insight research firm, Apple is going to experiment with foldable technology soon. The analysts at CCS insight research firm also predicted that Apple Company will most likely release a foldable iPad in 2024.
The annual report made on the predictions on upcoming trends and products has been published by the CCS insight analysts on Tuesday.
CCS Insight research firm has also predicted recently that instead of introducing a foldable iPhone, Apple will going to introduce a foldable iPad in two years.
This is the opposite of other smartphone makers like Samsung that developed foldable smartphones instead of tablets.
In an interview with CNBC, Ben Wood, who is a Chief of research at CCS Insight, said that it is not the right time for Apple to make a foldable iPad. He also added that his company forecasts consumers would reject the trend and instead experiment with a foldable iPad.
"The release of a foldable iPhone represents a significant challenge to Apple. In order to avoid cutting into sales of the current iPhones, it would first need to be extremely expensive, Wood continued.
It has been said by analysts that the foldable iPhone would cost around $2500. Apply iPhone 14 pro max is the most costly available model with the maximum storage. It costs about $1,599.
Wood predicted that there would be a "feeding frenzy" among critics who would hold Apple responsible for any technical issues with the foldable phone.
Despite this, according to Wood, Apple "has no option but to react" since the trend of foldable technology "is growing stronger," therefore the company will launch with an iPad.
In addition to "breathing fresh life" into the iPad series, he said that Apple would have the opportunity to learn how to adopt and expand foldable screen technology.
Apple was unavailable to comment straight away when CNBC contacted them.
Several rumors have surfaced regarding Apple's plans for products with foldable screens. The Display Supply Chain Consultants, a research company, published a report earlier this year in which they said that until 2025 Apply would not enter the foldable smartphone market. According to the company, Apple is apparently considering folding technology for displays that are roughly 20 inches in size. According to the market research company, they could be focusing on a brand-new foldable laptop product.
The existence of a foldable iPhone, however, has been the subject of rumors for at least four years. Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst at TF International Securities who has a reputation for delivering precise predictions, said in 2017 that the company will release a folding-screen iPhone in 2024.
