Apple is now developing several new external monitors, including an update to the Pro Display XDR that debuted in 2019 along with the Intel Mac Pro. However, given that the Mac Pro is in a more advanced stage of development than the monitor, it's feasible that the company may release its following high-end display after the Mac Pro.
According to a report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is developing "several new" external monitors equipped with the firm's proprietary technology. An improved version of the Pro Display XDR, which was last introduced in 2019, is anticipated to be part of this portfolio.
Apple's own chips, according to Gurman, should allow the screens to "rely less on resources from the associated computer." The Studio Display, which Apple introduced back in March, now supports capabilities like Center Stage, spatial audio, and "Hey Siri" voice commands thanks to a similar integration of the A13 Bionic CPU from the iPhone 11.
According to the source, Apple is developing several new external monitors, including an improved Pro Display XDR that debuted in 2019 alongside the Mac Pro.
According to additional reports, the company's forthcoming monitors will be powered by Apple Silicon processors, just like the Studio Display is powered by an Apple A13 Bionic chip. However, there currently needs to be more specifics available regarding the brand's planned presentations.
There has yet to be a release date for Apple's upcoming external displays, but indications indicate that the new Mac Pro is progressing more quickly than the upgraded Pro Display XDR.
