Leak Reveals NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and Non-Ti 4070 Full Specifications

Details on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070 have been leaked by a reliable Twitter source. Harukaze5719's tabulation of the rumoured main specifications of the not-yet-officially-launched RTX 4070 tier GPUs provides intriguing perspective. The most surprising information was taken from the RTX 4070 because last week on the inadvertent revelation by Colorful, which verified the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is a rebadged RTX 4080 12GB. It's frustrating that the RTX 4070 has the same number of CUDA cores as its predecessor, the RTX 3070, and a smaller memory bus. With 50% more TFLOPs and >10% better memory bandwidth, however, the new design with faster VRAM still stands out. Of course, if the leak is true, it also benefits from the additional VRAM by a factor of 50%.
Leak Reveals NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and Non-Ti 4070 Full Specifications
We'll take a deeper look at the RTX 4070, which we can finally think about in great depth. It employs a 292 mm2 die size reduced version of the AD104 GPU, which is also slower than the Ti variant. Built on TSMC's N4 technology, this GPU is much more compact than its predecessor; nonetheless, it still has 5,888 active CUDA cores and 184 active Tensor cores. The new RTX 4070 makes up for the fact that its memory bus is shorter than that of its predecessor by having much more memory and quicker GDDR6X memory. The rumoured boost rate for the new RTX 4070 is 2.6 GHz, the same as the RTX 4070 Ti. However, the RTX 4070's TDP has been dropped by 35W, to 250W, thanks to its smaller silicon size. According to Harukaze5719's measurements, the new RTX 4070 provides 125 GFLOPs per watt, much more than the RTX 3070's 92 GFLOPs per watt. The RTX 4070 Ti, with its 140 GFLOPs per watt, puts these GPUs in their place. This new information is welcome, and although it should be treated with some caution, it is probably very close to being accurate in terms of the RTX 4070's specifications. Meanwhile, the most crucial information is still lacking: for what will NVIDIA and its partners attempt to market the RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070 graphics cards? There has been chatter in several online communities about the RTX 4070 Ti's rumored $899 price tag (i.e. the same as the previously revealed but identical spec and unlaunched RTX 4080 12GB). No reliable source has disclosed the suggested retail price.
