Motorola has announced that it's Moto X40 smartphone will be available for purchase in the month of December. In addition, the company has provided details on two significant technical characteristics. In a post that he made on the Chinese social network Weibo, the executive at Lenovo known as Chen Jin revealed that Motorola would unveil the X40 in the month of December. To provide some background, the computer hardware manufacturer Lenovo recently acquired Motorola but the company has not changed its name and will continue to do business as usual. In addition to the timeframe for when the new phone will be available for purchase, the executive provided us with some further details on its features and capabilities. According to Chen Jin, the Motorola Moto X40 will be classed as IP68, which indicates that it will be able to survive all of the challenges that a contemporary smartphone is required to face. In this regard, a translation of the message on Weibo reads as follows: "This Moto X40 has a water resistance rating of IP68. We'd like to refer to it as a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the mobile phone since it can go through urban areas, as well as mountains and rivers. Prepare to go in the month of December!"

That absolutely seems like an accomplishment to me. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU and LPDDR5X RAM are two of the other features that have already been revealed by Chen Jin in the past. In addition, we were informed in the past that we should anticipate the Moto X40 to be equipped with a primary camera that has a resolution of 50 megapixels in addition to a telephoto camera that has a resolution of 12 megapixels. Another camera with 50 megapixels will also be able to take ultra-wide photos. Since the Moto X40 will finally be shown off to the public for the first time at its official launch event the following month, we don't have too much further to wait before seeing this device in the flesh. When that time comes, we'll have a better idea of how closely this resembles an SUV.
