Motorola’s Lenovo-Branded ThinkPhone has been leaked

Over the years, Lenovo has experimented with phones, but the majority of the company's efforts in the mobile world are focused on its subsidiary, Motorola. According to fresh information obtained by The Tech Outlook, Motorola is said to be working on the introduction of a Lenovo-branded smartphone that will be known as the ThinkPhone. It seems to feature some high-end specifications and has a physical design that is similar to that of Lenovo's ThinkPad laptops.

If you're sick of the glass backs that are typical on most smartphones, the ThinkPhone could be able to provide you with a much-needed break from that routine by offering an alternative material for the back of the device. It is quite comparable to the personal computers (PCs) that Lenovo markets under the ThinkPad brand name and features a body that is constructed out of Aramid fiber. On the left-hand side of the device is an extra button that may be used as a shortcut key if desired. This button is located on the left side of the gadget. This button injects some color into the design and resembles the TrackPoint nub that's found on ThinkPad notebooks in its overall appearance and functionality.

According to the source, the dimensions of this item are 158.7 mm on the long side, 74.4 mm on the width, and 8.3 mm on the height. The gadget is said to feature a 144Hz 6.6-inch POLED display with an uncommon 1,800 x 2,400 resolution, and the bezels surrounding the screen are thin and symmetrical — at least in the render. The device is also said to include a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. Not only are renderings generally exaggerated, but the information they include is also considered to leak and may not accurately depict the final product. According to the rumor, the display on the ThinkPhone would have a brightness of 1,200 nits, which would place it among the brightest smartphone displays currently available.

There is no mention of cost in the leak, but it seems to miss some of the features seen in flagship devices costing more than a thousand dollars. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU that the ThinkPhone is said to use is now outdated in light of the introduction of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The main camera is 50 megapixels, while the ultrawide camera has 13 megapixels and the depth sensor has 2 megapixels. Some of the best smartphones on the market now include back cameras that can zoom in to capture more distant objects. There is a hole punched out of the screen on the front, which rumor has housed a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Lenovo exclusively releases certain Motorola gadgets, especially those outside its regular product lines, in China. Leaked ThinkPhone renderings show Chrome and Duo on the home screen. China doesn't have these applications, therefore they'll be accessible elsewhere. The leak suggests a 2023 launch. It may ship with Lenovo laptop-specific Android 13 integrations.
