The New Android Auto UI is Finally Coming Soon

After all the significant hardware and software breakthroughs revealed during the I/O, 2022 keynote presentation, Google today issued a number of upgrades for vehicles with infotainment systems based on Android Automotive and vehicles with infotainment systems compatible with Android Auto. It will be easier to browse, manage media, and interact with others when driving thanks to a redesigned Android Auto user interface. The business is integrating a split screen view across all devices in order to fit the bigger displays in new automobiles, allowing you to simultaneously monitor music, messages, and instructions. As a result, it will be possible for you to immediately pause music or see a new message without having to switch between several menus and settings.

Additionally, Google is strengthening its support for flexible layouts so they can better adapt to the widening range of screens in new automobiles. Therefore, the Android Auto UI can display all of your important information whether you have a tall, portrait-oriented screen or a big, extra-wide display on your dashboard. The Google Assistant is now providing more contextual suggestions for things like answering missed calls, texting arrival times, and more in order to improve hands-free controls. In order to increase the variety of in-car entertainment options available to owners of vehicles equipped with Android Automotive systems, Google is enhancing support for video streaming applications (such as new Ford, Volvo, and others). The Tubi TV and Epix Now applications will soon support YouTube video streaming, which Google first debuted at CES earlier this year. Just keep in mind that you can only watch videos when the car is parked, so avoid streaming while operating a vehicle. The company also claims that in the future, but no exact time has been specified, passengers will be able to stream content from their phones to the built-in displays of their automobiles.
