Nothing is a recently established company by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. The prime goal of the founder is to "remove barriers between people and technology to create a seamless digital future." The brand launched its first smartphone, Nothing Phone (1), in July 2022 and claimed to have built it with pure instinct. The device recently received an extensive Nothing OS 1.1.7 upgrade that fixes several bugs with enhanced battery life, Apple AirPods support, and much more. This software update is not what Carl teased about the Android 13 Nothing OS 1.5.0 update in his tweet a couple of days ago.

Fixed Bugs and Glitches

Nothing claims to have catered to the bugs causing the OS to slow down and hinder its performance. This smartphone has improved the OS fluidity, but authorities didn’t reveal details about it. Nothing Phone (1) has the potential to get hyped in the tech market if these programming stutters get resolved by the company.

Improved Audio Quality

The Nothing Phone (1) was facing some audio quality issues with video recording with distortion and lack of clear audio. The software update enables the smartphone to solve it ad offers a better experience while recording videos and during video calls.

Updated AirPods Support Under Experimental Features

Nothing OS 1.1.7 delivers support for Apple AirPods, through which a user can check the battery percentage of the connected AirPods from the smartphone. It is an exclusive option, and Nothing Phone (1) becomes the first smartphone to have this unique feature of EarPods support, or maybe one among the few smartphones. In the Settings menu, you can enable the AirPods feature by selecting Experimental features. The Experimental feature column may indicate that a support feature will not be available to the masses and is in beta before being released.

Upgraded Battery Capacity

The flourishing company reports that Nothing OS 1.1.7 provides more updated battery capacity than the previous Nothing OS 1.1.6. The smartphone carries a 4,500mAh non-removable battery, powered with 33W wired charging, and 15W of wireless charging. The smartphone battery also adds 5W of reverse charging, which makes it efficient like a premium device.

Consumer’s Expectations

The purchasers bought the first smartphone from the company with high hopes for advanced performance. However, users are facing basic glitches like unresponsive WhatsApp lock screen notifications. We hope that the device will be able to resolve it in this month’s software update. Nothing OS 1.1.7 is expected to be available soon to download up to an 80 MB (OTA) file.
