Realme 10 Pro Plus: A Comprehensive Review

Minimalistic Design and Sleek Curved Body:

The Realme smartphone has arrived with a 6.7-inch AMOLED HDR10+ display screen panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, and 394 PPI density. The handset supports 10-bit color, 360 Hz touch response, and 800 nits’ peak brightness. The newly launched smartphone display features have improved from the previous Realme 9 Pro Plus, but it is uncertain whether the buyers would appreciate the change in design.

Realme 10 Pro Plus comes with notable changes in its design, and it also becomes the first to have a Realme number series smartphone to have curved panels on both the front and rear sides. These curved display panels are 61-degree curved like the previous Galaxy Edge phones. It makes the smartphone thinner as compared to its Realme predecessors’ models.

The body dimensions of the Realme model are 161.5x73.9x7.8mm, glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back. The lack of durability of plastic in smartphones can be considered a drawback. The manufacturers could have maximized scratch protection if they had used metal instead of plastic.

Updated Processor and Operating System:

Realme has updated the smartphone’s chipset with the latest Dimensity 1080 5G chipset. Realme 10 Pro Plus is packed with an Octa-core CPU of 2x2.6 GHz & 6x2.0 GHz and a GPU of Mali-G68 MC4. The upgraded CPU and GPU improve the overall performance of the smartphone.

The handset runs on the newly launched Android 13 and it also becomes the first smartphone to run on Android 13 after Pixel 7. An advanced OS in a midrange smartphone will enhance its popularity among the masses. It is skinned with Realme UI 4.0, so don’t expect the extensive android 13 perks in the smartphone. However, the customized UI version implements several updated specs that are still available, including color customizations, media controls, battery optimizations, and privacy updates, among other enhancements.

It may not be the fastest smartphone in this price range, but it is certainly among the fast pace midrange smartphones. It will provide a smooth user experience since it does not get hotter even with continuous use.

Triple Camera Module

The smartphone has also three camera modules with an improved primary camera sensor that goes up to 108MP from 50MP in the previous model. It has affected optical image stabilization. Expect the exceptional quality primary camera other two lenses include a basic 8MP ultra-wide shooter and a 2MP macro lens. Unfortunately, a user does not get OIS. But night mode is available in the primary camera lens. It seems that a user would be able to benefit from the presumed spec of 3x lossless zoom. The video recording capabilities of the handset are 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120/480fps, and 720p@960fps.

The selfie camera does not get any update and remains 16 MP with a Quad-Bayer color filter. The autofocus of the selfie camera works by default. The front panorama sensor records video at 1080p@30fps.

Fast Charging and Long-lasting Battery Life

Realme has packed its 10 series Pro Plus with an updated battery of 5000mAh capacity, which is considered a strong battery for a midrange smartphone. Realme 10 Pro Plus got a 149h Endurance rating that consists of 37:31h 3G talk time, 18:58h web browsing, and 21:00 video playback (Source @GSMarena)

The smartphone is supported with a fast wired charging of 67W to let the user charge the device in a minimum time. The wired charging speed also got updated from its predecessor model. According to the Realme advertisement, the device promised to charge 50% in 17 minutes, but surprisingly the device is capable to charge 53% in 15 minutes and 86% in exactly 30 minutes. However, the handset does not offer any wireless charging option.

Availability and Launch Details

Realme 10 Pro Plus got recently released by the Chinese smartphone brand. The company launched it in the latter part of November, and it has started launching in some countries. However, we expect the Realme midrange smartphone to be available in most countries in the first quarter of 2023. As for the prices, it is set at different price ranges for different RAM and internal storage.

What’s in the Box?

Realme 10 Pro Plus is a mid-range smartphone that gives the feel of a flagship model with massive improvements in most specs from its predecessor phone. A user gets a couple of things in the handset’s box, a powerful 67W charger with a USB-C-to-A cable.

There’s also a clear protective case in the box to save your smartphone from scratches and protects it from dimming the backside. Moreover, the Realme 10 Pro+ comes with a pre-applied protective film. Having a competitive midrange smartphone with these accessories is enough to grab buyers’ attention and pleasantly surprise them.
