By Ramsha Umer - Nov 8, 2022

Samsung is widely acclaimed for manufacturing flagships and high-end smartphones, including foldable phones, smart wearables, and other multiple devices. Fortunately, to keep its products reachable to the masses, it also pays attention to introducing inexpensive smartphones for people on a limited budget. Samsung Galaxy A04s definitely arrives as a successor to the Galaxy A03s, which was released last year. Indeed, the multinational company doesn't invest much in advertising its vanilla phone models. That's one of the reasons Samsung silently released the Galaxy A04e a month after the launch of the A04s.

This review contains complete information about the specifications and features to let you know whether it is even worth buying.

Minimalistic yet Elegant Design:

Samsung's entry-level smartphone has a minimal design to make it look decent. The vanilla model arrives with a PLS TFT 6.5-inch display size of tempered glass protection. Intending to keep the price as low as possible, authorities decided not to include corning gorilla glass protection. However, the budget-friendly smartphone comes at a convenient refresh rate of 90Hz with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It has 400 peak brightness and supports up to 270ppi.

As for the body structure of the cheap smartphone concerns, it is unfortunately not durable, and one better guards it with a durable smartphone case since the frame is composed of plastic. Hence, the body is prone to getting numerous scratches. The weight of the phone is already mentioned above in the sneak peek of specifications. It is neither waterproof nor does it have dust resistance. Thus, a consumer must use this while being highly cautious.

Triple Camera Module and Selfie Camera:

In recent years, multiple camera modules have become commonplace on flagship phones, but even entry-level phones have started to adopt the same format. However, the flagships' camera qualities are way more advanced than the vanilla models. The A04s also features a triple camera and a capable primary camera sensor of 50 MP with an image resolution of 8192 x 6144. It supports autofocus and digital zoom with a Flash LED light. The smartphone does not have an ultra-wide and telephoto camera since the other two lenses are 2 MP (macro lens) and 2 MP (depth lens). The camera features Bokeh mode, HDR, and Panorama. Its video recording capability is at 1080p up to 30 FPS.

Samsung A04s selfie camera consists of a 5 MP (wide) sensor with a lower image resolution of 2560 x 1960. It has a CMOS sensor while supporting video resolution at 720p up to 30 FPS.

Long-lasting Battery Life and Claims of Fast Charging:

With the ever-increasing demand for long battery hours, companies are coming up with better battery life, the fastest charging, or even wireless charging. It has become a norm to launch smartphone batteries that can be charged in minimal time durations. An appreciable act by the company to introduce such a strong battery in a low-end smartphone.

The device arrives with a non-removable Li-Ion and 15W fast charging battery of 5000mAh. A04s can be charged up to 28% in 30 mins while the 100%. In this A04s, we get a commendable 120-hour battery life, which is the most remarkable feature of a vanilla phone.

Does it not perform up to the mark?

The low-end smartphone arrives with the above-mentioned company’s 8nm chipset, and there are mixed opinions from the tech geeks about its underwhelming performance. The speculations are on point that the device does not process extremely fast, but one doesn’t expect a $159 smartphone to run like a flagship model. It has an 8-core CPU at 2 GHz and an 820MHz GPU clock. The device is powered by an operating system of size 12 and works decently.

Misc. Features:

The smartphone comes with connectivity of Wi-Fi 5 802.11 and 5 versions of Bluetooth with a LE, and A2DP features.

It has a mono speaker with a headphone and an audio jack.

The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner to ensure the security of the consumer's data and the other remaining sensors are Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor.

What’s in the Box?

Samsung announced A04s in August 2022 and launched it after a month in September 2022. It is now available at the above-stated three reasonable prices for triple internal configurations around the globe. Samsung also offers the client to pay in installments on their official website and get the phone. In its box, the buyer receives a SIM ejector tool and a USB type C port, and thankfully, he gets a charger too.

It is indeed true that there’s room for improvement, but to have a strong battery and a decent quality camera on this budget is worth buying. To make it affordable for a broader range of consumers, especially those from the middle and lower middle classes, the company puts maximum effort into maintaining great quality features and specifications.
