Xiaomi released Redmi Note 12 series at its launch event, along with the Book Air 13 and further devices. The awaited sequel contains 04 smartphones,
Redmi Note 12 5G is an entry-level smartphone. While the other three models,
Redmi Note 12 Pro,
Pro Plus, and the flagship
Explorer, have essentially identical features with the latest processors, faster charging, long battery hours, splendid camera sensors, and much more. The prime focus at the launch event was on the flagship Explorer model.
We’ve gathered most aspects of all 04 models of the newly pitched Redmi Note 12 series, but our chief attention would be on the crown jewel of the launch. Henceforth, we will be extensively exploring the Xiaomi flagship Explorer Edition.
Flexible OLED Display and Lightweight Body Structure
The four smartphones have a 6.67-inch OLED display size, a 2400x1080 pixels resolution, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The series, except the basic model, comes with a flexible OLED display with 10-bit colors. The display screens of Redmi predecessors support 8-bit colors, which means 64 million color support. Whereas a flagship Explorer consumer gets 10-bit color and up to 1 billion color support on a 6.67-inch display screen. This flexible OLED technology is more vibrant than traditional OLED and a major productive step in introducing advanced features while mirroring its top leading competitors.
We get a refresh rate of 120 Hz with peak brightness equal to 1200 nits for Redmi Note 12 5G and 900 nits for remaining flagship models and a pixel density of 394PPI through a diamond-pixel arrangement.
The front side of the smartphones is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass to provide durability to the screen panels. The Redmi Note 12 series is said to be a series of thin and lightweight smartphones but apparently, the explorer edition is slightly on the heavier side due to its improved optical image stabilization (OIS) and other latest features.
The thickness of the models is equivalent to 7.89 mm; however, the weight considers being lesser than 190 grams. Xiaomi reduces the bezel size to 2.9mm to create a broader look to utilize the flexible OLED display. There is a small center punch hole, full HDR10, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Dolby Vision, and a brighter display to easily use in sunlight. In keeping with the official perspective, the lightweight Redmi smartphone is a pleasurable experience to hold and, it makes every interaction delightful.Fastest Charging and Long-Lasting Battery Hours
Explorer has set a trademark with an elevated charging speed of 210W with a battery capacity of 4300mAh. The flagship model battery can be fully charged in only 09 minutes, and the 12 Pro+ takes 19 minutes to be 100% charged. While the remaining models also get charged in less than an hour. The battery life is nearly up to two days.
Xiaomi achieved the rapid charging feature by keeping the voltage low and splitting the electricity into three channels so that the device does not get heated and for obvious safety concerns.
Mighty Camera Capabilities
With the widely acclaimed camera sensors, Xiaomi launched Explorer with a mighty 200MP (wide), 8MP (Ultra-wide), and 2MP (macro) camera sensors. It has a front camera of 16MP wide-angle camera, perfect for wide background vlogging and for taking group selfies too. The highly anticipated camera sensor OIS is one of the core reasons for its fame along with the fast-charging hype.
The 12 Pro+ also comes with 200MP employing ISOCELL HPX technology, 8MP (ultra-wide), and a 2MP (macro). The 12 Pro gets a 50MP primary camera with Sony IMX766 sensor and OIS. The other two camera sensors are the same as Explorer and 12 Pro Plus. Moreover, both models contain a 16MP sensor selfie camera. The vanilla phone has a dual camera module in which the main camera is 48MP, and the other is 2MP.
Remarkable Performance
The vanilla set has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 gen 1, which has quite identical performance as the previous snapdragon chipset with the addition of 5G integration. Redmi Note 12 Pro series arrives with the advanced
MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor, TSMC’s 6nm, and A78+A55 octa-core structure. The Pro series also support 5G with dual SIM and Wi-Fi 6 and is available in different RAM, and internal storage variants such as 12 Pro+ arrive in two storage variants of 8GB + 256GB and 12GB+256GB.
According to numerous tech geeks, Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 series has a refined design language with multiple color options. But there isn’t any groundbreaking revolution in the series; it brings a similar pattern as the market has been following. However, the flagship Explorer set boasts the fastest wired charging power and advanced camera technology and guarantees an impressive user experience. The flagship smartphone is claimed to set a benchmark for quick charging and capturing spectacular images.
